World Series and Pumpkin Carving

October 28. 2012

And the winner is . . .

Matt's happy!!!  The Giants won with a 4 game sweep.  Both boys have now seen the Giants win a World Series and will see them win many more.  Go Giants!!!

I carved an angry bird for the boys since they like the game so much and a kitty cat because I thought that it looked fun to carve.  Matt carved a "GIANTS' pumpkin since they won the World Series today (picture to come later).

Caught Dylan snuggling with the cats this morning.  He loves them so much!

And I Thought That Forest Grove Was Small

October 27. 2012

Matt has been considering a new role/title with US Bank but it's in a very small town in the opposite direction of anything/civilization.  We decided to take a car trip and have lunch in this little town called Vernonia just to see how the commute would be along with getting a feel for this new community.  Not a bad commute but I worry about when the snow and ice comes.  Matt liked it and that's what matters. Looks like I might be a bankers wife soon :-)!

Later in the evening while I was painting pumpkins for my up and coming moms group Halloween party, Dylan came over with the poster board I had bought to make a potty chart with (Dylan picked the color out) asking if we could make his potty chart.  OK, so I started cleaning off the table.  I look over when I hear Dylan says "all done" and this is what I see . . .

Dylan had put down the poster board and went and got his potty from the bathroom and placed it on the poster board.  Dylan was so proud of his 'Potty Chart"!

Toys, Toys and More Toys

October 26. 2012

While the boys were playing this morning, I noticed that there were a lot of toys just laying around causing more of a mess then anything because the boys didn't play with them anymore anymore (mostly because they had out grown them).  So once the boys went down for nap, I started with all the toys downstairs and removed anything and everything that I didn't think would be missed by the boys along with any item that should have been upstairs.
The pile was march larger when I was finished with the toys and books.
The toy bin after I was finished.

Ghost Hands

October 25. 2012

My moms group came over today and we made ghost hands with each kids hands.  Dylan and Luke made both grandmas one each and of course one for mommy.  Dylan didn't want just white ghost, so he picked blue and red paint to make ghost with.

Potty training has gone down hill  big time.  Dylan does not want to potty at all and he has had 2 accidents in one hour  (He only had 1 accident all day yesterday).  I just don't think he is ready.  I'm going to wait a few weeks and try again but with a new system that he can't out smart.

25 Minutes . . Beep

October 24. 2012

Since Dylan is potty training, we will not be leaving the house for a few days.  Today is going ok but I'm wondering if my son is out smarting the potty training system I have set up.  Most articles I have read said to set a timer and have your child try every time.  So every 25 minutes the oven timer beeps and off to the bathroom we go.  The reason why I think Dylan is out smarting me is because every 25 minutes he actually pees and then ask for his 5 jelly beans. I don't think he is totally emptying his bladder each time so he can get his jelly beans.  I guess we will see how day 3 goes.

Potty Training Begins

October 23. 2012

The boys and I went to the boys dentist today so she could check Dylan and Luke's chipped teeth.  Not the news I wanted to hear.  They cannot fix Dylan's tooth (I cried later when we got home).  We are not talking about a little chip, we are talking about a section of his inner front tooth missing!!! Makes me sick thinking about it.  Same thing with Luke's tooth, not much they can do. I'm fine with that because you wouldn't even notice unless you were looking at his front tooth very closely.
Today is the day that potty training will begin.  After running around all morning and after their naps, the underpants have been put on.

Dylan's excited and I'm worried.  He has gone potty several times but only when we ask.  It's very rear when he tells us if he needs to go.  4 hours of underpants and 1 accident (both #1 and #2).  Tomorrow will be a new day.

Day 4 of Disneyland and We Are Tired!

October 22. 2012

Our last day and I'm sad.  We rushed this morning packing and getting ready so we could get to the park when it opened for early bird hour since we were staying at a Disneyland hotel.  We almost did it, we got to the park at 9:30 instead of 9:00, oh well.  Matt got in line for the fast pass ticket line for the new Cars ride  (yes, even the fast pass tickets had a line which is no surprise sine the ride its self had over a 2 hour wait).  The boys were to short for the ride, Dylan was only 2 inches short, so Matt, Joan and I road the ride.  Pretty cool but I would never wait in a long line for any ride.  We spent a few hours at the park (we were all so tired) and headed to the airport and Grandma J and Grandpa had a long ride ahead of them since they were driving home.  Once again the boys did so well on the pane ride and we got home right before midnight.

Luke slept most of the time on the plane and Dylan played on my iPad

Day 3 of Disneyland and World of Color

October 21. 2012

Day 3 and the boys are doing so well.  The boys are just having a blast spending time with both set of grandparents and I know that the grandparents are loving watching the boys get so excited about every thing they see.  At night we went and saw the World of Color show at California Park.

Luke slept threw the entire show and Dylan seemed to be enjoying it till he was getting to wet from the spray of the show (we had front row seats so we were definitely feeling the mist from the water).  It was very electrifying to see what they could do with water and color and it was only about 20 minutes long so you weren't standing forever.  Another great day!

 So tired!!!!!

Matt won twice and got to bring home these 2 large prizes!

Day 2 and Lot's of Smiles

October 20. 2012

We took our time in the morning, letting the boys wake up on their own and just taking it easy.  We finally got to the park (California adventure)  at about 10:30 a.m. and met Joan and Darryl there since they were staying at a different hotel.  What a difference what a good night rest does.  The boys were full of smiles and were loving the rides.  It was a perfect day and the boys were excellent!!!!

Driving with Grandma J!

 Lot's of high fives!

 Time for a nap!

I love this look on Luke.

The boys loved seeing the real Mater and Lightning!
